Together Against the Cold
Supporting people in Ukraine amid winter and energy crisis
Project Overview
Russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have left millions of people exposed to the harsh winter cold. In response, we and our local partners have launched a relief campaign to ease this urgent hardship. Acting quickly, directly, and transparently, we provide sources of warmth and light to support people affected by power and heating outages.

Ukraine update: Rising temperatures, lasting damage
Dear friends and donors,
👉 The good news is that temperatures in Ukraine are rising again. However, as spring slowly arrives, the humanitarian needs of those affected by the harsh winter remain urgent. Thanks to your support through our crowdfunding campaign, we have been able to implement numerous aid measures in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv.
Nevertheless, the damage to the energy infrastructure will continue to affect Ukrainians for a long duration. We are therefore continuing our efforts and currently implementing the following measures, among others:
▪️ In partnership with X-Traverse, we are supporting a Kharkiv bakery so it can continue producing bread for humanitarian purposes. We are ensuring that baking operations can continue by providing diesel for a generator. Fresh bread is delivered to settlements near the front line, including to elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with limited mobility. The bakery is also a social project that offers internally displaced persons their first job in Kharkiv.
▪️ Generator for the hospital in the Dnipropetrovsk region: By the end of the week, a generator was to be delivered to a hospital in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the future, it will provide the hospital with a steady power supply. The hospital provides daily healthcare for nearly 500 outpatients.
▪️ With our support, our partner AoS in Dnipro is setting up a mobile power supply unit. This will enable central infrastructures, such as hospitals, heating systems, and larger residential buildings, to be supplied with power flexibly during prolonged outages. The generators have already been procured, and a commercial vehicle is being purchased to make them mobile.
While we continue to provide relief supplies and generators with the help of our partners, a new and increasingly urgent challenge has emerged: rising fuel costs for generator operation.
However, we remain committed to helping those affected. Thank you very much for your support! 💛
