Our aim is to give people of caste the opportunity to build a better future. How? By giving away goats, which bring food and income through breeding. Goats not only provide nutritious milk and meat, but also valuable wool and other materials for further processing. Their simple breeding requires minimal resources and thus secures livelihoods in an efficient manner.

65 Familien leben in Kaste - wir haben das Dorf in Absprache mit den Bewohnern in zwei Gruppen unterteilt, da die Beschaffung und der Transport von 65 Tieren auf einmal sehr viel wäre.
In der ersten Runde wird die Sunpokhari Agriculture Group mit 31 Familien unterstützt und jede Familie erhält ein Tier. Dazu kommt natürlich der Ziegenbock. -

Our aim with this campaign is to help the village of Kaste and its 65 families in the long term. Since the severe earthquake in 2015, many people are still living in corrugated iron huts. Their income is not enough to buy building materials for a new house. Many families also lack the money to enable their children to complete their education.
We want to support these families and provide them with additional income through goat farming.
In 2021, we launched the "Goat Distribution Programme" and in 2022 we were able to help the village of Grang in the Langtang region. Now we are collecting for Kaste (Salyankot, Dhading region).

Goats not only provide nutritious milk and meat, which enhance an often monotonous diet, but also valuable wool and hides that can be used for everyday purposes.
They are also easy to breed and require only minimal resources, making them an easy way to earn a living.

Behind the crowdfunding campaign is the non-profit organisation "WIR BEWEGEN", which has been actively working to improve living conditions in Nepal since 2015.
Our long history in Nepal and our many successes demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the people in this region.
The association is the result of a close collaboration between Maya Baas in Switzerland and Narayan Nepal in Nepal. They have been friends since 2010 and although they grew up in such different worlds, they have so much in common and a similar mindset. Without Narayan as a person of trust in Nepal, none of these projects would be possible.
Our long history in Nepal and our many successes demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the people in this region.

The exact costs are difficult to estimate. We calculate $200 per animal including transport and $1200 for the breeding ram.
The prices in Nepal, both for gasoline (transport) and for animals, are very dependent on the global economy and the availability of goods.
If in the end the actual costs exceed the income, the association or we personally will cover these costs. If there is any money left over, we will invest it in our other projects or save it for the next goat village. Den Kaste will certainly not be the last village that we supply with goats.

Compared to the rest of the world, we are doing well, even very well. When travelling in Nepal, the experience hospitality and generosity from these people who have almost nothing, is overwhelming.
When we were able to experience how easily and unbureaucratically we could make a real difference for these people during our first project in 2015, our motivation continued to grow and remains so to this day.
