Mother Earth pillows

This are pillow cases handmade by Wayuu men in Venezuela. Females usually draw the designs and the men weave the wall hangings, which we have turned into pillows. Each design reflects elements of mother nature like plants, animals, birds and the sun and the darkness.
This work has become increasingly a important source of income for Wayuu people in Venezuela, since our association pays the Wayuu people in an established price in Swiss Francs. That way the indigenous are not affected by the high inflation rate in Venezuela.
