Cafe Le Doute is a short dance-film comedy that transforms the feeling of doubt into an imaginative world of movement, character, and humor.
Every time a difficult decision approaches, a crooked little café lights up in the far corners of consciousness — and all the “dark thoughts” begin to arrive: Fear, Anger, Anxiety, Pride, Shame, Envy, and Insecurity.
Each one brings its own physicality, its own logic, its own dance.
Blending choreography, acting, and cinematic storytelling, this project pushes the boundaries of dance film. Each character is built through a unique movement language and performed in a surreal, handmade set that amplifies their emotional world. The film balances precise movement design with comedy, and the visual style reminiscent of theatrical cinema.
Created by choreographer and filmmaker Dmitry Khamzin, whose previous dance films have been selected by multiple international festivals, "Café Le Doute" invites viewers to step inside the mind during its most vulnerable moment: the moment of deciding “yes or no.” It is playful, thoughtful, and deeply human — a tribute to the chaotic beauty of the emotional landscape we all share.
By supporting this project, you help bring an original choreographic vision to life, supporting dancers, filmmakers, and artists who dedicate their craft to exploring movement in new and daring forms.
Your contribution goes directly toward the completion of the film: post-production, sound design, editing, and artist compensation.
If you love dance, cinema, and innovative artistic storytelling, Café Le Doute is a project worth helping into the world.
