Stage for June 14 Geneva
On June 14 2019, a purple wave sweeps through Switzerland. More than 500,000 women, people from gender minorities and men strike and take to the streets to demand an egalitarian, supportive and anti-capitalist society.

This movement was born in the spring of 2018, following the congress of women from the Swiss Trade Union (USS), who proposed launching a feminist strike. Since then, civil society collectives from all over Switzerland have been drafting the Manifesto for the Feminist Strike in collective and horizontal discussions. The call to strike is launched in March 2019.
The Geneva Feminist Strike Collective is coordinating the actions at cantonal level. We call for an intersectional and inclusive feminism. We mobilise for a society free of sexist and sexual violence, homophobia and transphobia, racism, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, and validism.

In 1981, a specific provision on gender equality was included in the Federal Constitution. Ten years later, nothing had changed. The women watchmakers of the Vallée de Joux had the idea of going on strike, and on the 14th of June 1991 the first national strike since 1918 took place under the slogan "Les femmes bras croisés, le pays perd pied" ("Women with folded arms, the country loses its footing").
Strong, proud, feminist and angry!

We need your support to fund the stage in the Parc des Bastions, which will host speeches and performances before the march starts, and provide a festive moment when the procession returns with our fabulous DJettexs! This stage is essential to make this day of struggle for our rights unforgettable.

This event exists thanks to the commitment of volunteers. These many hours of unpaid work are invested in the organisation, but the Collectif needs your help to finance the 5000chf needed to hire the stage and the technical equipment (sound, lights...), as well as the technicians who will be in charge of setting it up and taking it down.

To thank you for your participation in the crowdfunding campaign, we're offering you some wonderful rewards: tote bags, T-shirts, photos and even hand-embroidered creations by members of the collective.

La Grève féministe is counting on you! A big THANK YOU in advance for your support 💜

Seasoned activist

A retired teacher and former member of Geneva's Grand Council, Françoise is a lifelong feminist activist. She was part of the organisation of the 1991 women's strike and, before that, of the Geneva MLF. Just as naturally, she was part of the formation of the Women's Strike Collective* in 2018 for the now historic feminist strike in 2019.

She is just one member of a wonderful team of highly motivated people who volunteer their time to organise the collective's events throughout the year, including the 2024 edition of the 14 June demonstration, which we all hope will be INCREDIBLE & STRONG!

Together we are

stronger!

On the road to 14 June!🌈💜🔥
