Project Overview

Dalit Homestay is the first homestay in Nepal run by the Dalit community with the aim of counteracting caste-based discrimination, generating income and strengthening the Dalit community's self-esteem through tourism activity. In order to facilitate interaction with guests and foster Dalit self-reliance, the Dalits are in need of English lessons.

In Uganda Africa, nearby the capital Kampala, we started a vocational training center for currently 10 children learning the profession of a tailor. Run by 2 experienced female tailors, the children learn all the different techniques and materials needed to become a professional tailor. The programme last 1 to 1.5 years.

M.E.T.I.S

We are 8 medical and nursing students from Lausanne. Our project CALWHA of the M.E.T.I.S association supports more than 400 children living in the cities of Ukerewe and Shirati in association with the Tanzanian government. The latter provides antiretroviral drugs and we organize “Activity Days” two to three times a month during which children receive their treatments and a medical consultation.
