Winter sports Kyrgyzstan
Training for ski instructors
All of them with the aim to promote winter sports and winter tourism in the rural areas of Kyrgyzstan.
The training will provide them the technical, methodical and pedagogical basics for their future ski trainings in their sport schools or within the local and international tourism.
The journey of the swiss ski instructors, accommodation, meals, skilift tickets, the transport for the local participants as well as teaching materials, which have to be translated, cost money. Though there is a lot of voluntary work, done by varous people, the project is dependent on financial support.
Infrastructure exists already – local ski schools for kids, ski touring opportunities for tourists and new small ski bases around Bishkek. Even old facilities, built during soviet times are still available for winter tourism.
Not comparable is the economical situation of these countries. The unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan is a big issue. Even more in the winter months.
To become a ski instructor shall provide an opportunity for earning money with tourism in the winter months.
During my first travel through Kyrgyzstan I got in contact with several people, which share my interest for winter sport. This was the start of this project, which brought me again to Kyrgyzstan for several times.
During my further travel in the framework of the project i made contact with people which are working in the tourist sector throughout the country. Furthermore they are interested in doing such ski training. With it, they enable themselve to widen their activities within the tourist sector.
During the trips through Kyrgyzstan, which I did in the framework of the project, I got to know different people, who share my passion and the interest for skiing.
Out of my personal connection to Kyrgyzstan and the local people, this project resulted.
Jointly with the snow sports school Bivio, where I work during winter times, and other ski instructors from the ski schools in Corvatsch and Pontresina, we will conduct the training in november in Karakol.
