Wakkilo is a community project (social enterprise).Founded by a motivation to change and improve lives of local communities and young people, especially rural women and youth through agriculture.
We aim to promote and engage in innovative farming solutions to encourage healthy feeding, fight hunger, malnutrition and unemployment.
Wakkilo is also focused on research exploring herbal and plant based medicine.
We believe every disease has a cure, and could be found in plants. We want to explore this. As we push forward to win this goal, our only strength is a 200 by 200 piece of land with a passionate and experienced team. We still need a little more financial burst of atleast 7300 Euros to expand into a poultry farm starting with 100 birds. We are also combining this with 400 pawpaw plants, Maringa and vegetables for this season. Join us to change lives
I'm a young healthy man who, at an early age faced life after school and saw a new reality. My dream for higher education faced a height of bills I couldn't climb. My dream job of becoming an accountant dwindled. These financial obstacles filled my head with many thoughts. My younger brother Sulayman who could not handle it decided to sneak from the family and took up a deadly journey to Italy via Libya and the dangerous desserts. He got stalked in Libya for lack of funds to continue to Italy or even buy food to eat.
My other brother Ebrima, eventually got himself into drugs and later faced mental health issues.
It is in the midst of these dark clouds of financial storms shaking my family and by extension, having seen worst happening to my neighbors and community, I developed a new vision for entrepreneurship and decided to invent WAKKILO PROVISIONS.
With a mere concept and some hard working people within the community, and a clear vision to revive and explore agriculture ( poultry and vegetable farming), I was able to convince my brother Sulayman to leave Libya and returned home for this partnership. Now, this is the journey we are in together.
