Project Overview

For the past 10 years, ARCO has been supporting women in need through the Patchwork Project, who face a particular burden due to violent domestic relationships and income difficulties. We create a safe environment in which the women can talk about their problems and re-learn their self-efficacy by creating different products. We use the money to pay the salary of a coordinator and the costs of the materials.

In the last ten years, ARCO has been supporting women in need from the surrounding area through the Patchwork Project. Women who are exposed to a particular burden due to violent domestic relationships, income difficulties or mental illness and who almost always start the project with very low self-esteem.
In order to be able to help the women in the best possible way, we create a fixed daily structure in a friendly and understanding environment in our project.
With the professional support from social workers and psychologists, and under the guidance of a trained sewing teacher, the women can discuss and work through their problems together and individually, as well as experience their self-efficacy through the handicraft work.
In the course of the project, the women produce various products such as dolls, bags or seasonal gifts and accessories for Christmas with high technical and aesthetic quality.
ARCO also contacts shops and bazaars to sell the products at commercial markets. To strengthen and stabilise the women emotionally, they can participate in the sale of the products, improving their own skills in communication, sales methods and money management - always accompanied by ARCO's professional staff. The profit goes completely back to the women.
This project creates an opportunity for the women to work and earn an income, thus improving their social, emotional and economic status.

The donations are used to pay the salaries of a coordinator and another social worker as well as material costs and transport costs to the markets. When the required amount has been reached, the money will be transferred to ARCO and, if desired, we as an NGO can issue a receipt for the donation.
We are happy about any amount and thank you very much in advance for your help.
