For the past 10 years, ARCO has been supporting women in need through the Patchwork Project, who face a particular burden due to violent domestic relationships and income difficulties. We create a safe environment in which the women can talk about their problems and re-learn their self-efficacy by creating different products. We use the money to pay the salary of a coordinator and the costs of the materials.

ARCO is a child welfare organisation in a region of great poverty on the southern periphery of São Paulo, Brazil. Since 1991, ARCO has been caring for around 600 children and young people from socially disadvantaged families aged between 1 and 20 years. ARCO comprises a kindergarten, the ARCO school, youth groups and other projects. The children and adolescents receive schooling and a healthy diet and are supported in many ways with a view to later vocational training. ARCO is also increasingly doing valuable social work within the favela.
As a volunteer at ARCO, I am responsible for various donation projects and create + implement pedagogical concepts in our school.
In 2017 and 2018, I completed an volunteer social year at ARCO and then studied business education in Dresden (Germany) for four years. Now I have returned, I am happy to be able to help, to support the diverse and important projects of ARCO and to be able to practically apply the knowledge from my studies.
