Project Overview
In 2014 Paul Onyango was starting the Project of Mount Zion Nyachebe School to help needy children living in Nyachebe beach. Due to HIV and the strong dependency on fishing many orphans (partly orphans) call Nyachebe Beach their home. Because there is no governmental school and especially young children are not able to walk the far school way to the next neighbouring town Mount Zion Nyachebe School is the only place offering affordable education.

The last year in 2022 we founded the parents association to include the families in the organization of the school and increase their participation. With the help of donations we were able to finance a skilled teacher. Because the families rely strongly on fishing and farming and
Because of increasing drought there is less fish in lake victoria and the farming yields decrease strongly. Also families rely strongly on fishing and farming, therefore we used the "pay-what-you-can-afford" principle for our school fees. Since we were able to employ two professional teachers the number of pupils increased rapidly. This shows that our work has an strong and immediate impact on the community in Nyachebe Beach. For the work-up phase of the school and the empowerment of the community in Nyachebe beach we still rely on donations why we decided to start this cowdfunding project.

As a worker in this school i witnessed the tragedy the families and children faced when the former head of the school vanished and with him all the money the school was in charge of. Instead of closing the school and leave the families and children alone with their hoplessness me and Mr. Kennedy Obonyo decided to start the school all over again. This led us to start this crowdfunding campain.
