Project Overview
Children of addicted parents are stigmatized for life, socially disadvantaged and often stand alone. From birth, they are responsible for the sick parent or both, keep the family together and raise younger siblings. Despite social help with out-of-home placements, foster families, children's homes, etc., these children experience terrible things. Often violence, physical and verbal abuse and rejection are repeated.

Final Sprint!
Dear supporters
The production of our film is entering the final round!
In the last news we promised you a report on our road trip. Unfortunately, there was so much to do afterwards that we haven't got round to it yet. We don't want to give away too much at this point, but the trip was definitely worth the effort! We were able to film many beautiful and interesting shots :-)
The rough cut and the sound material are currently with the sound engineers, who are taking care of the sound design and mixing. At the same time, we are putting the finishing touches to the colour scheme and the final animations.
Then in March it's time for the cinema premiere! Where and when exactly this will take place has not yet been decided. However, the film will certainly be shown during the campaign week of the Foundation Sucht Schweiz, which will take place from 11 to 17 March 2024.

The production of our film is entering the final round!
In the last news we promised you a report on our road trip. Unfortunately, there was so much to do afterwards that we haven't got round to it yet. We don't want to give away too much at this point, but the trip was definitely worth the effort! We were able to film many beautiful and interesting shots :-)

Dear supporters
The goodies for a social project like this are more of a symbolic nature, nevertheless we don't want to withhold the selected reward from you!
Jasmin made a nice drawing especially for this, which will go out as a card (an actual certificate didn't seem so appropriate to us in this case) to those who chose this goodie. The drawing is also printed on the back of the letter and attached as a PDF to the personal email.
Thanks again to all those who supported the project without a goodie!
The cards and letters will go in the mail during the next week, the emails will be sent on Monday.
In the next update we will be able to report about our road trip to Portugal, because it will be soon!

Website, rain and other news
Dear supporters
Dandelions are blooming everywhere and for the opening sequence of the film we wanted to film a beautiful dandelion field. But the rain almost put a spoke in our wheel! Fortunately, the sun took over for a few days and so it worked out with the recordings :-)
The website for the film is now online and will be expanded continuously:

We could win a contemporary artist (himself a dandelion child) and a politician for our project! But more is not revealed yet ;-)
But the best news comes from the Foundation for Art, Culture and History (SKKG) respectively the 'Kultur Komitee Winterthur', which supports 5 times cultural projects with CHF 400'000.-. The 2nd round of the KKW is finished and they supported our project with CHF 34'000.-! Many thanks to this year's KKW team for the funds to realize our film even better and more professionally and for the important sign that this support sets!

Production start!
Dear supporters
The preparations for the film production are in full swing. Various filming dates are planned, the bus for the road trip to Portugal has been rented and 2 interviews with experts have already been filmed! Yesterday we were allowed to visit Addiction Switzerland in Lausanne and record a conversation with Markus Meury (media spokesman).
Next, various appointments are planned with Jasmin and other affected people.

Where do we go from here? Jan gives a short outlook:
"The first shooting dates are already planned, but in parallel, the financing continues. We will submit applications to various foundations to cover the total costs of the production if possible. Because that's the only way I'll be able to mainly take care of the film. So the premiere in January 2024 depends on the support of the foundations, as well as the possibility to hire different professionals for certain parts of the production (e.g. cinema sound mixing). So the quality of individual sections and the release date are still somewhat 'in flux', but the most important thing is: the film will become a reality!"

Dear supporters and those who want to become supporters
We are very happy that already 97 boosters support our project! With this, almost half of the first stage (20'000.-) is done and we hope, despite the January low, to reach at least the other half and thus a payment of the first stage until the end of the crowdfunding. Otherwise the money will go back to you, the donors.
But what happens to the film production if only the 1st stage is reached? Is it not worth to donate something, because then the film still cannot be produced?
If the 1st stage is not reached, i.e. without your support, it will indeed be difficult. The costs for the entire production including labor costs amount to about CHF 130,000. Unfortunately, this is too little for a film subsidy from the federal government, a minimum of 150'000.- for external costs applies and requires a co-production for example with SRF.
With the crowdfunding we want to cover all external costs and expenses (stage 1 filming and stage 2 post-production), stage 3-5 would then ensure the DVD/Blu-Ray production, the website for the film and a financial contribution to expenses.
In concrete terms, this means that reaching the 1st stage would make the film production possible in a first step! At the same time, such a promotion of the project by the public, i.e. by you, would enable or favor inquiries to various foundations.
Without support from foundations, the production would be greatly delayed, as commercial projects would have priority in order to make a living. But the film would be realized in any case!
So yes, it is worth supporting the project, even if the target amount might not be reached.
That's why we are glad if you share the project with friends and relatives, because still every little support counts.
