Even though we are mostly apart due to this pandemic, my creators are flavouring each videocall with inspirational ideas, words of appreciation, and lots of fun facts (did you know that people have been controlling fermentation for thousands of years in a process that dates back to 6000 BC in China!). My weeks are full of research, tastings, lab work, hands-on-design, as I find my way through the innovation funnel. We test, learn and adapt. Which means we fail a lot too. Our decision-making runs by trust, transparency and consent. So, if I survived until today, it’s because I'm the outcome of a thoughtful collaboration to have a positive impact for you and our environment.
The Ricola brand emerged from Richterich confectionery shop in Laufen, Switzerland, and has been highly defined by innovation and quality since 1930. For 90 years, the family business exports its herbal specialties to more than 50 countries worldwide. Ricola is regarded as a pioneer in natural herb cultivation.
I am a "mom to be" from Northern Germany and have been in Switzerland for seven years. My journey in the startup world began in Berlin, as the first employee of Outfittery, followed by a few exciting years at Selfnation, an ETH spin-off in Zurich, and the web development company Liip. Since two years, I've been an Intrapreneur at Ricola creating innovative business models and products such as our newest favourite 'herbling'. Developing this drink literally makes my heart sing, since it combines so many passions of mine, I love good food, nature and spending time with my loved ones.
I’m a creative strategist who likes to make sense of things together with other open-minded people (and tons of dark chocolate). Nine years ago, I moved from Southern Portugal to Zurich and since then I daily translate human needs and emotions into products, services, and omnichannel experiences. The herbling journey allowed me to collaborate with people I trust, with whom I can learn from, give back and have fun while supporting innovation and sustainability at Ricola. I'm happy to make people's life easier and more fulfilling, and herbling is the pure expression of that.
I am a passionate food technologist from Basel and love to explore new paths. After my studies, I was able to gain my first professional experience at the Ricola AG. In January this year, I have decided to take my step into self-employment and therefore support companies and friends in the development of products. Herbling, the youngest offspring of Ricola, represents the ultimate creation for me. I can fully explore different flavours and am already looking forward to the moment when I can taste it together with all my friends and round it off with fine food and good music.
Having worked and lived in several cultures, I consider myself to be a global nomad. I have been looking for what resonates with consumers my entire career. I have provided inspiration to several large multinationals, family businesses and an advanced start-up discovering product developments and innovations. I've brought many new products to market in categories from baby food, to chocolate, to prepared soups and sauces, to direct to consumer meal kits and most recently for Ricola with herbal lozenges. I love building new things and getting them to run. When I saw the awesome product and idea from the herbling team, it made me want more and convinced me that this proposition needed further exploration. I hope that after learning more about Herbling and tasting some of the developments with your friends that you will see the same.
