Djunta Mon translates from Cape Verdean Creole as "joining hands" 🤝 and symbolizes the collaboration of people from different countries and cultures. Djunta Mon combines social work, education, and tourism. Our center offers free homework assistance and tutoring in cooperation with the public school. We regularly welcome volunteers from around the world to support our initiatives.
The association Djunta Mon Switzerland supports the community project "Djunta Mon" on the Cape Verde Islands. Operating under the motto "come together and get involved," the project implements initiatives in socio-cultural areas, including education, training, and recreational activities for children and youth, as well as further education for young adults. It also provides secure jobs for the local population.
The association aims to secure funding to support the activities of Djunta Mon. All tasks within Djunta Mon Switzerland are carried out on a voluntary basis. The association operates on a non-commercial, non-profit basis, with 100% of donations directly benefiting the project.
Since 2020, I have been deeply committed to the social project "Djunta Mon" on the Cape Verde Islands. Since 2023, I have been leading this Swiss-Cape Verdean cooperation project as the president of the association. My passion for this project is based on the firm belief that education is the key to a better future.
Through my travels and work in the tourism sector, I have developed a deep connection with Cabo Verde. Despite the challenges they face, many young people demonstrate remarkable resilience, great drive, and significant potential.
Education opens new perspectives for children and young people, provides them with the necessary tools to realize their dreams, and empowers them to actively contribute to the development of their communities.
As the local coordinator and project manager Cabo Verde, I bring extensive experience as a social worker and a wide local network to my role. I am passionately dedicated to advancing educational projects for children and youth.
I have witnessed firsthand how education can transform young lives, providing not just knowledge but also hope and the means to actively shape their futures.
With my experience and local connections, we ensure that support is applied directly and effectively. Together, we can offer the children and youth of Cape Verde real opportunities for a brighter future.
